if all you have is a bench and some free weights, you should give crossfit a try.
I was able to drop my gym membership when i started it. It focuses on functional strength and has most workouts based on strength and endurance.

all you do is the workout of the day or you can look thru the faq and find one you'd like to do instead. they're all scalable, meaning if you can't do that exact one, you can lower the weight, reps, sets to one that you can manage to do. under "get started" is a section for "brandX scaled workouts" the crossfit team had scaled them for you if you need to look there for some ideas on how to shrink them down.
