I decided to put an American Flag design on the baseball... Basically I took a picture of a flag, then a picture of a baseball... Made the flag and the entire image of the baseball (not just the baseball itself) the same size... completely cut out everything around the baseball... Used the magic wand tool to select the baseball... Right clicked, and hit "select inverse" to select everything but the baseball (a blank area at this point).... While that was selected, I changed to the flag layer and deleted all that was selected... And then I used the Blending procedure that was in this tutorial... (I probably just named a bunch of stuff that everyone knows... But I'm new :-)...) BTW yet again, another great tutorial.. Thanks!
I wanted do to something like this. it's something a saw on the ineternet, so not that original.
In stead of making a baseball melon, i wanted to make a football ham.
Only my football is too dark, but i don't know how to turn it lighter over the ham, while my laces are more visible. Can anybody explain me how i can get the laces come out some more, and the peace where the leader is sew together?
You appear to be skipping the last step. A layer with the football placed above the other layers and blend mode set to normal. Mask is set to hide all of the football (mask filled with black) and you paint white with a soft brush in the mask to reveal the colors of the laces. The white laces will completely cover the picture below. Paint careful and reduce opacity of the brush to get smooth blending.
For the ham to be lighter and show more football, you might need to apply a layer adjustment mask above the ham which should be the bottom layer and the adjustment layer only affects the ham. Mask the adjustment layer so that it only changes the ham. You may need one or more of these adjustment layers, you will have to experiment. I would start with an exposure adjustment layer and lighten the ham so the football texture shows more. Sometimes the color of the layer below can throw off the effects of the layers set to blend with it above (the football in this case). You can use a hue/saturation adjustment layer above the ham to reduce the saturation to a point where the football is more dominant. Again the adjustment layer will be set to layer mask and only affect the ham portion of the image.
Thanks a lot for the advice, i'll give it a go as soon as i have the time and then i'll post back with the result (probably with some more questions!)
By the way; is there anyone who knows a good site or tutorial or something to make realistic "pictures" of some 3D buildings I have made. It need to make realistic architectural presentations of our designs.
