A trick, not a tut

You can guess any number out of 100 within 9 tries. You've played this game before. It's called Higher or Lower. You guess a number chosen by another person, and he tells you if it's higher or lower. You can always find that number within 9 tries. You can apply it to photoshopping. Use it when fading anything you've applied to your image.

Here's how you get to the right number.

Guess the number. Your first pick is 50, halfway between zero and 100. If thesreult looks too strong, lower it by 50%. The new number is now 25. If that looks too weak, raise it by 50% again, halfway between what you first chose (50) and your second guess (25). Half of this is 12, and the number is 37. Apply that. If it looks to weak or too strong, find the mid point again. Keep doing this until your right where you wanna be.

That fade tool is awfully good, and possibly the best feature of Photoshop. Use it with this trick and you'll like the results, and get to the result much quicker.
