The basic purpose of this Tutorial is to understand a lot of Photoshop Techniques regarding Patterns, Layer styles, smart object, Filters and Animation.
Step 1:
First of all we will create our back ground for this we have to create a small pattern.
Create a new document with dimensions; 10×10px, keep the background transparent. Set zoom to Fit on Screen.. Create a new layer then use the rectangle tool with a foreground color of black to achieve this result apply layer style as below.
Step 2:
Go to Edit _____ Define Pattern. Name it Metal.
Step 3:
Now we will create the background; the part that is shown when the doors open up. Create a new document with dimensions; 600×250px, You can use your own size. First fill the background layer black, next create a new layer then use the gradient tool to make a radial gradient going from white in the middle of the canvas to black at the edge of the canvas. Change the opacity of this layer to about 10%, this will make the middle of the canvas slightly lighter.
Step 4:
Now we are going to add the metal effect, for this we will use the pattern we created in previous step. Create a new layer then fill it with black, Select this layer then in the layers panel change the fill opacity to 0% and the opacity to 50%. Next open the blending options for this layer then use the pattern overlay settings shown below, choosing the metal pattern.
Step 5:
Now write any text. We will animate it at the end of this tutorial.
Step 6:
Create a new layer then select a large soft brush with 100% opacity, choose a bright color and paint some brush strokes onto this layer in different colors like in the image below.
Step 7:
Go Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and use a value of 100px. Set the blending mode to color . We have now finished the background.
Step 8:
Now we will create Gates of Interface. For this firstof all we will create a pattern.
creating a new document with dimensions; 40×40px, next go Edit _____ Preferences _____ Grids and set the major gridlines to every 40px and the subdivisions to 8 then hit OK. If the grid is not showing then turn it on by hitting Ctrl+’. click on the view dropdown and make sure Snap is checked. Create a new layer, now we are going to create some guidelines for the pattern so pick the line tool with a weight of 1px and draw 45° lines like shown in the image below, make sure that in the main toolbar Fill Pixels is selected and anti-aliased is unchecked.
Step 9:
Select the brush tool and choose an 8px hard brush then hit F5 to bring up the brush editor, in shape dynamics change the settings to match the ones shown below. This means that when we stroke a path and simulate pen pressure then the brush will change to 2px at each end.
Step 10:
Create a new layer then pick the pen tool and in the main toolbar make sure paths is selected. Now, snapping to the grid, click at the start point of the middle line we made then again at the end point. right click anywhere in the canvas and select stroke path, make sure simulate pressure is checked. The image should now look like the one shown below.
Step 11:
Now apply following layer styles.
Step 12:
Next duplicate this layer then go Edit _____ Transform _____ Flip Vertical. Now create a new layer below the duplicated layer then select the duplicated layer and hit Ctrl+E. Next go Filter _____ Other _____ Offset and use the settings shown below.
Go to Edit _____ Define Pattern. Name it Diamond.
Step 13:
Go back to original file.
First of aal we create a group and name it Door. Now all the layers for the Door will created in this group. Create a new layer. Press D to set default foreground and background colors. Go to Filter _____ Render _____ Clouds. You can press Ctrl+F to bring different variations in clouds. After this again go to Filter _____ Noise _____ Add Noise and use 50%, Gaussian, monochromatic then go Filter _____ Blur _____ Gaussian Blur with 2px. You should now have something which looks similar to the image shown below.
Step 14:
Now we’ll add the Diamond pattern. Go to Layer style and apply the settings as below.
Step 15:
Now press Ctrl+U to add a hue/saturation set it colorize and use a hue of 25 and a saturation of about 50 it should now look like the image below.
Step 16:
Now we will delete half portion from right side and will create one side of our gate and at the end we will get its duplicate for the other side.
Select the rectangular marquee tool and draw the outer sides of this border making a selection, next, still with the rectangular marquee tool, hold Alt and draw another selection one minor gridline inside the previous one. Now fill this selection black.
Step 17:
Now for the handle. We will take rounded rectangle of 5 pixel draw. draw in any color. and apply following layer styles.
Step 18:
Now use the with rectangle tool to create the following shape each one in a different layer.
Step 19:
It Contains 8 Layers. now apply following layer styles.
Step 20:
Now add small circles circles to the image like this.
Step 21:
Now add 2 more circles at the end of each cylinder and apply bevel and emboss.
Step 22:
Now we have finish one side. Select the Door Group folder ____ right click and convert to smart objects. Get the duplicate of this , go to edit _____ transform _____ Flip Horizontal and place on the right side of the Canvas. Name them Left door and right door.
tep 23:
Now we will go for the animation.
Open animation window and switch over to Timeline Animation. In time line Click drop down arrow of Right Door. You will find here Position. Create a key frame at Frame 0, Move the red edit line at the end of of the time which here 0:00:09:29, Create a key frame and with Souse drag the right door to right side
Step 24:
Now for text Layer we will play with opacity. For this create key frames for every 15th frame and alternate the opacity to 0 and 100. for example at 0:00:00:00 the opacity is 0 and 0:00:00:15 the opacity is 100. Now continue with this up to last frames.
Here is the final Result
