the hook on this is that the photoshop detective is framing someone he doesn't like.
this is made super obvious because he just uses the same pictures that the police took of the crime scene. He then does a really bad chop job and places the guy into the pictures of the crime scene. Then when he shows the pics to the police they are so wow'd by "technology" and impressed by his skillz that they just take his word for it since he's the expert and all.
The premise is that the chopped pictures are so strong of proof that no body even thinks to question them or argue with them.
Like even when they are arresting the guy, if you show that part, he could say "I'm innocent" and "I didn't do it" but when he is shown the photographic evidence, even he cant argue with that and can only give a "well, I guess I must be guilty then" shrug.
We're talking about photographic evedence here. No one can argue with that.
