My G/F and I just adopted a German Shepherd!!!!!!

well actually it is a belgian malanois but most people just think of them as sheps. He is 1 1/2 years old and around 65-70 lbs..........he has one blue eye and one brown!

I named him Argus/Argos (depends if you like the greek or latin spelling better) after Ulysses dog from the illiad and the odysey.


I will have pics up when I get him on thursday or Friday!

got him from the shelter............jake lives at my parents house...I hope they get along........my poor old jake man is getting old and needs a puppy to kick around (even though this puppy is 15 lbs hevier than the jake-man)

Argos will live @ my G/F's........I stay over there at least 5 nights a week anyway.

i see. my doggies are getting old. one is over 13. we're waiting for her to croak. she's old and is starting to go crazy. she was fine when she had younger dogs to keep her comany. but since they've gone, she's got no one to play around with and is got mental issues now.

shelter dogs are the best. i think they are more loyal because they know where they came from.

yeah, especially older shelter dogs.............they are grateful for a home, the puppies will have no memory of being picked out............but the rescue dogs know.

argos was already protective of me.....a big dobie was walking by me and growled..........gos went nutz......he ran head first into his cage trying to get the dobie.......and once I got in the cage with him to show him it was alright......he stayed between any other dog that walked by, and me.


i worked with him for 10 minutes today at the shelter and already taught him to sit and shake!

smart dog!! i bought my shelter dog off the intenet. never even saw or touched her prior. best purchase in my life!!

cricket is very protective of my little man. she didn't want anyone but me and hubby holding him when he came home from the hospital. it's funny, sometimes she takes naps in his room. she walks and inspects the house at night before bed... ok, i'll stop rambling.

we wanted something that would be protective of her when I am not around......and would be good with kids. (for when people come over....we don't want any of those............................................. ......yet )

this little sucker is cool too.............I want to train him to snarl and growl on command. but not to attack!


other than that......just sit, stay, bring me a beer, and lick the beer off of my floor when i spill it........and to shake!
