Car Ashtrays: Optional features now??

I was looking thru the "dealer add-ons" when I got my element. One of the optional add-ons was a car ashtray. I found that a bit odd. So I started looking around, it had no cigarette lighter either. Weird.

So I'm wondering if this is an attempt to cut down on smokers or encourage littering.....

It makes me wonder who is behind that... insurance companies as your rates are lower when you don't smoke, or the automaker because they don't want you to stink up your car... and possibly when someone who smoked in their Element tries to sell it used and the person looking at the used car sees cig burns or it stinks it gives Honda a bad look as that person probably won't want to buy a Honda based on that one experience.
