knew a guy from college who had graduated a year before me, he hooked me up with a job where he was working. the old "it's who you know" saying helped me a LOT there. 1 job interview and that was it
my neighbor knew i was lookin for careerswitch and a buddy of his asked him if he knew anyone for a good job (they both big traders) so I got hooked up nice in the middle of that
I had a run-in with the owner of the print shop I managed, so he started nit-picking until he could fire me.
The funny part is I guess he expected me to go off, and when i didn't I guess he felt kinda guilty, and when I went for the interview on my current job he gave a freakin gushing recommendation and it definitely helped land my current, much better job.
My boss lady still remarks about how "glowing" his recommendation was.

isn't that crazy how you can work one place and not get along very well and hate it there. then you work somewhere else and everything is just great.
Thats why you should never waste your time working somewhere that you hate because its just not worth it. There is always something better out there that you will enjoy much more.
found out that the area was desperate for nurse aides, went to school for a class, got certfied, the got hired on the spot for decent money.
Newest job (if I land it), saw an ad in the paper looking for a BA in graphic design, 2nd interview on Friday, looks like its in the bag but I dont want to jinx anything.
