When you turned 18, did you register for the draft?
MiscPhotoshop When you turned 18, did you register for the draft? in the forums; I'm a chic, so i never had to, but are you still required to do that?...
I didn't till I was 21. I tried to register to go to college and they busted me. I still didn't do it though, I kept putting it off until they sent me a letter that said I had 10 days to do it or they would throw me in jail. So I finally did it.
Its not that I'm not patriotic and all that stuff, I just had better things to do.
I dont respond well when people "expect" things of me. I like doing things because I want to, not because someone is trying to force me to.
My local air force recruiter solved the dilemma of selective service. At that time you had to be registered with selective service in order to enlist...kinda a Federale oxymoron....
i did the same thing when I graduated, i just didnt want to be 28+ when i was done and just starting "life."
Same here. I wish I had of joined the Airforce or Navy when I was 18. Looking back on it now I'm positive my life would of been better had I joined. More experience and oportunities than just working at the local cracker factory.
