Google's up to some shit

Looks like they've got some agreement with the entertainment industry to keep people from finding high-res images of celebrities. You can still find the "all images", but when you filter by "Large images" you just get a bunch of maps, documents and shit that has nothing to do with your search term. Here are some searches for some of the most photograph'd ho's on the net.

Paris Hilton
Britney Spears (and yes, there are a few pics of her, but it used to be pages and pages)
Halle Berry
Angelina Jolie again, a few pics - but notice as you go to pages 2 and 3 how many pictures are someone else.

Plus, look how often these guys - COLOURlovers :: Color Trends + Palettes - show up with those palette pics - I think they're in on it. I've never seen those in searches before.


this is serious news for chopperz, and just the whole conspiracy thing in general - the fact that google would actively participate in misdirecting searches. But they already sold their soul in China, where they gladly helped China filter searches to keep all those comrades in check.

any picture of any famous person you search for in "large" comes up with maps and crap.

to post some stuff in the "britney's nasty" thread, I googled Hedy Lamarr, a 1920's actress. Same stuff came up with the large filter on.

nice - never used that before

although it's kinda like yahoo in that it considers "large" images at 300 pixels wide and up, whereas google actually gives you pretty large sizes, and the only other option is desktop, then you only get wallpaper dimension pics - hard to find the nice 2400x1800 images and up
