I'm headed home to study the American Revolution some more. I'm reading so much about it right now that I'm dreaming about the battles of Lexington and Concord. The British won Lexington, but we kicked butt in Concord!
So shove that up your pipe Thomas Gage!!!!
GO GEORGE WASHINGTON!!!
....and the Continental Army, and minutemen of course....

American History is cool. I use to historical reenacting at a little place called Mackinaw City, MI. Here's a pic of some of us. I am the one kneeling.
Does it bother you to know you'll never use this stuff in the real world? Just sayin'
not really. I now know why you're already taxed on newspaper and not chaged an additoinal tax at the register.
i always thought it was a flat 0.50 for news paper, but it's really 0.46 with 0.04 tax already added in.
We have Mr. Townshend to thank for that. He wanted to tax the colonists on paper goods to help make up for the deficet caused by the French-Indian war. It's actually called the Stamp Act.

I called an Indian shopkeeper on that the other day. He said "when you buy it from the machine there's no tax, but if you are taking one off the rack and ring it up, I am taxing it". I told him to go to hell. I'll fight for my $0.04.
Kind of like people taxing water. Dumbasses. I told a store manager off one time because he was taxing bottled water. He had no clue at all as to what in his store was taxed and what wasn't. He didn't differentiate between prepped foods, dry goods, nothing.
