with an incredible drop in the market today, i think its vital that we get all the investors in here to exchange opinions and such. and if im the only one in here that invests money, i will make it my duty to convert all you heathens because there is a recession coming, no doubt about it, and i dont want to see my chopz family getting left behind.
in this thread we shall discuss:
-Precious Metals
-IRA's/Mutual Funds
-Stocks/Forex
-Real Estate
-anything else thats considered an investment (i.e. CoD's, pokeman cards, etc).
SuperMans tip for January 22nd, 2008:
SELL ALL OF YOUR STOCKS. Invest in precious metals. preferably gold. silver as well, but if all you can afford is gold, then i'd opt for gold.
I personally use www.apmex.com . They are one of the only online retailers that will accept your order via credit card, so a big plus to me. They also FULLY insure your product once it hits the USPS, so no need to worry about lost packages. They sell everything from gold/silver/platinum coins and bars to rare and old coins as well.
Where invest into a mutual fund/IRA?
The most convenient way to do this is to use the popular online services.
www.scottrade.com - I personally use this service. For stocks, it only charges around 7 bucks per trade, no inactivity fee's, and it only takes 500 bucks to open up an account
www.etrade.com - Another popular service, but not as good in my opinion. They require a lot more money up front, charge more for trades (I think), and charge you an inactivity fee.
Local Bank s- You can also walk up to your local bank (most banks now-days offer this). You can just walk in, and ask for an IRA account and bam your done.
this just in!! i'm an investor. i've made the best investment that can never be taken away from me!
my education
SPOILER!!^^^^^^

shoulda sold my DE back on the 14th, oh well my parents invested in it way back when before I knew anything about stock. I don't even know how many shares I have or what it was worth when it was put in, but I do know that it's up quite a bit since then
