I made this thread a LONG ASS TIME AGO! on bb.com... here is the link incase you just don't get what I am trying to say here. seems like quite a few people didn't grasp the concept the 1st time... here it is. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=652244

This is going to be difficult for me to try to explain so bear with me...
I thought of this theory when I was like 10 years old or so, and someone reminded me of it. Do you think that it's possible that different colors look totally different to other people? for example, my RED and your RED may look totally different. Your RED could look exactly like my Blue does. also, say that yellow and blue make green.... Obviously it does for everyone. Maybe yellow to someone else looks totally different and so does Blue. However, their versions of the two colors create their cognitive version of green.... I know its weird and hard to explain, but theoretically it could be possible. This may have to do with different eye colors etc.... I personally don't think this is the case, but why couldn't it be possible?
I was talking about something similar not long ago but i was talking about being colour blind, i dont see how it works if they see one colour as a different colour how would anyone know?. It is kinda the same thing as your asking

I doubt anyone can understand that ^^ lol
im sure most of the people here will get it. it amazes me how many people had no clue what I was talking about as u can read in page one of the original thread lol
i know exactly what your saying BC. i used to think the same thing sometimes. Theres no real way to prove it though... unless you switched eye balls or something. Even then it may have nothing to do with the eyes but how the brain perceives certain light.
what you mean is that if i see something red, it will be red to you too but it could be a totally different color the way you see it.

I know alot of the time after a boxing match my vision was all f*cked up. I would see everything as green. It would usually go back to normal when I woke up the next day.

yip i know exactly what you're talking about and have pondered this before. I definitely think people have different perceptions of colours, not just colorblind people. For example, you know when you see one of those greeny-blue colours, and you decide it's more of a blue, but then someone else thinks it's more of a green. I'm sure that has something to do with our perception of the colour, then again maybe not. Also, when someone is describing the colour of something to you then you actually see it and it isn't what they said it is. Is that you perceiving the colours differently? (i'm not sure if that's the same thing, but thought i'd add it)
We only know a colour is a particular colour because we've been told it is. I'm convinced people see different colours. However, there's no way to prove it.
It is very possible. However i think this would be a rare case if you have a mental illness of sorts. Also some people will get repulsed by seeing the same colour (even if they see it the same) because they have different associations with it.
So unless you are colourblind or delusional you don't see different colours
Reactions to colours are different for everyone because of past experiences.
Yeah. You mentioned the key word of cognition. As long as the colors are related ie orange and yellow, people may interpret one as being the other. But there may be problems when situations pop up such as saying youre gonna get yellow paint and your wife says you picked up orange.
