I'm going to start the first Dark Tower book Monday. I'm kinda apprehensive about it because I think the last book is around 900 pages

I really liked Intensity by Dean Koontz.

Brad Metzler is a good author as well.


My wife really liked the Twilight series by Stefanie Meyer, she wouldn't put that damn book down.

I mean I've read a few other novels (albeit required reading for High School and College) but the only thing I've read on my free time that wasn't against my will were those books.

I usually read non-fiction. (A Briefer History of Time, Thank You For Arguing, The Prince, The God Delusion, etc.)

Maybe you should read some fantasy then. There are plenty of things better than Harry Potter, not that the Harry Potter books were bad.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with what you find, dude. My favorite books ever.

And actually, the last book is 1,000+ pages. After the first one they're all over 500 pages.

Gunslinger - Right around 300 pages.
Drawing of The Three - 500+ pages.
The Waste Lands - Close to 700 pages.
Wizard and Glass - About 800 pages.
Wolves of The Calla - 900+ pages.
Song of Susannah - 500 pages, give or take.
The Dark Tower - 1000+ pages.

The Bourne trilogy is pretty good, actually pretty much any Ludlum book is good as far as spy/thriller novels go
