So I just finished watching Pirate Radio.

Its about a bunch of brits and an american broadcasting their radio station in the middle of some sea somewhere, and the british government is trying to stop them. Its set in the 60's, and they play some really good music through out the movie. Eventually, the government steps on their toes, so they devise a plan to stay on the air. The movie started off slow, and most of the characters didnt really evolve, but it was still a good movie and had a great cast.

evidently the movie came out awhile ago in places other than in the U.S., and for some reason the movie execs decided to change the name from Pirate Radio to the dumbed down version the boat that rocked. I guess because we Americans wont go to a movie unless its got some corny name.

If you do want to watch it, I suggest you watch the uk version Pirate Radio. The U.S. verion The Boat That Rocked had scenes deleted.

The UK version was called The Boat That Rocked, I think it's the US version that was renamed Pirate Radio.

I watched it a while back and yeah it's not awesome but it's not bad. Has it's moments.
It's also got the guy who was the Big Lebowski's crawling assistant as one of the DJ's.

It's very loosely based on the true story of Radio Caroline.

i watched the uk version. evidently its way better than the us version.

Really? I wonder what was changed in the US version.
It's not like the film had rampant nudity in it.
