Contest #23

Ok, were going to get the contests started again. Its been a little while since we had one so were just going to start out simple this time.

This weeks contest is to chop Tom Cruise.

There are no rules, anything goes.

Judging will be done by forum members voting on the entries.

People will be able to vote on multiple entries.

If you vote on your own entry; it will not count.

Prizes will be:

1st place = 500 reps
2nd place = 300 reps
3rd place = 100 reps

Please PM all entries to joshbond.
Do not post entries in this thread.

All entries must have a photochopz logo on them to be elegible.

The deadline for entering is saturday at midnight. Sunday morning the voting will begin.

Keep in mind that in the past people have tended to vote for funny chopz and for creativity over quality. However it never hurts to make your pic as high quality as you can, just keep in mind that people like to laugh more than they like to critique your layering and artistic use of the rounded rectangle tool.

Hmmm... good question.

since were keeping it as simple as possible this round just go ahead and use any photo of him.

Contest in the future will have a few more rules and restrictions but just have fun with this one k.

how many entries are we allowed? I may have to play the odds and do one each of a funny and a serious/artsy.

Enter as many as you want. But your only adding more competition for yourself if you enter multiple times.

This aint no magnetic lasso friendly pic. Looks like I have to use it as my main backround or I'll have to be a bit creative.

try brightening it a little and changing the sensitivity settings on your maglasso.

to elaborate a bit,

1. duplicate the layer
2. use brightness to flare it out some, or at least until you can see the outlines
3. use the maglasso to create the selection
4. use the "save selection as" and load it on the untouched layer
or
4.a. turn the brightened layer off, switch focus to the untouched layer.

The selection will then be in the proper place on the proper layer.

that's the method I use, except I use paint-on mask in quick mask, I hate that fuggin mag-lasso, but thass jus' me.
I worship my intuos3 9x12 (at work, can't afford my own) - best possible add-on you can have.
and by worship I mean I burn piles of AOL discs each morning in its honor.
