Suggestions about competitions.

This is the thread to openly discuss the competitions. For you to make suggestions regarding the way it is run, because it isn't perfect at the moment in my eyes. We want to hear what you have to say. Discuss anything, the more the better.

your thoughts on mods entering the competition? They would compete just like you, thus creating more competition for everyone and hopefully resulting in a higher standard of chops.

Keep in mind...
- we want entries to still remain anonymous to avoid bias when voting.
- only 10 options on a poll.

The anonymous entries is a great idea. I don't think Mods entering would be problem. The more entries the better.

Maybe you guys could even have a strictly mod-only competition, and let everyone else vote to see who has the best chop. Obviously you wouldn't need the reps, but you would have bragging rights.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but maybe the contest winner could also have a star next to their name (or even a bigger avatar) for the week that they won?

I think the mods should be able to compete, since its annonamous.
If a mod wins then ohh well, better luck next week for earning some reps.
That way the mods could join in too.

I think you should only have one entry per person. That way, you would have to work harder and make a better quality chop, instead of two mediocre chops.
I don't care if mods enter the contest, but if the prize is reps, then it takes away the regular members chances at winning.
You know my opinion on animations, so we will leave it at that.

well there is no guarantee that both chops will make the top ten, but maybe 1 entry should be the new rule. we will see what Thrice says

not sure if this is already in effect, but you shouldn't be allowed to vote for your own chop

it would be good if people didn't vote for their own, however theres no real way of stopping them. People probably think that their's is the best, or they want the reps.

Just some ideas-

1.I was thinking that we could have 2 votings... 1 voting here and 1 voting in the bb.com misc. ( the publicity could bring in some new members)
The bb.com winner would not get as many reps as the winner here, but maybe a little extra.

2.There could be a seperate animation competiton, but I'm not sure there will be enough entries to make for a good competiton.

3.I would like for the mods to enter, but I think the entry submissions should be pm'd to a mod who doesn't chop. (Not that I don't trust Thrice )

Possibly, not sure how that would go down on bb.com....negatively or accepted. Personally, i think subtle advertising at bb.com would work well, i.e. compete in a comp chop over there and have a little, faint photchopz logo in the corner.

Yeah i doubt many people would do animation since they take time. People can post there animations to be recognised after the voting though by all means.

haha liar!! na i agree.

But the entries are posted in the 'mods only' section for all the mods to decide on, not just me. So that does remove bias.

I've voted for myself, but that was becuase I liked my chop better. I've also voted for others when they had great ones.
