Tech Techniques for Icons/Avatars suggestestions requested.

Greetings,

In another aspect of the self on the 'net I work on 'Shops for an online FPT tournament. One of the things I do is work on the Avatars and team or army icons.

The Current army calls themselves after socialists so I came up with this one...



But some overly sensitive souls are bitching about the use of the sickle and hammer.

So I did....



What I'm asking is which do you prefer, and what improvements, if any, you could offer. Feel free to edit these as you would.

For the record I freakin' hate the second one.

Why a screw?

maybe if you had it holding something related to the game they are playing or crushing something in its fists.

This is a game correct? I'd say tell the over-sensitive whiners to get over it. Virtually every socialist, communist, terrorist, etc. faction in history is represented in the gaming world.

If you must change it though, I'd suggest looking to Pink Floyd's The Wall for inspiration:

How 'bout instead of a screw, use the type of hammer you have in the first one....just leave out the sickle. But, do leave the hammer red.
