How To stamp? (need some help)
Photoshop DiscussionPhotoshop How To stamp? (need some help) in the forums; I want to take take a small image and stamp it...like a stamp....
I'm not sure what you mean. You could erase the backround of your image and save it as a gif, then cut-n-past + free transform as many times as you want.
Otherwise, if you are looking at the clone stamp tool, then hold ALT on your keyboard + left click your mouse on what you are trying to make a stamp of.. release ALT and use your stamp.
^It takes some time to figure out how to use it and what to use it for. Play with it a little.
if i want to do it like 100x thats alot of work though for both of those options.
think of it like this, you have a blank piece of paper or a picture, and you just take a stamp and stamp whatever it is onto the page and repeat over and over
but im not sure its even possible to do this with ps, its not like ive ever seen it done.
about your question, i'm not sure what you mean. are you wanting to place a specific image on many other pictures? if so, save your "stamp" as a gif with a transparent background. select the background with the magic wand. inverse the selection. Select/Modify/Contract, set to 1 pixel and copy. Now the image is in your clipboard ready to paste as many times as you want.
what you can also do is create an action that you can use many times over. you record a certain group of events and save them as one. after it's saved, you can hit one command to recreate all the events you just did. http://www.ebonytraffic.com/articles...ngactions.html
this article explains it much better.
rather than place it on multiple images i would to just place it on one image alot of times.
i have tried using an action as cut and paste, but it pastes it to the same place on the page over and over and you then have to place each image. I would rather just click and have it pasted where ever i clicked. Im starting to think this isnt possible but i guess there might be some trick to doing it with an action.

i don't think it's possible but i'm still not 100% sure what you're asking. what is the image you want to stamp?
on this sequence i had to go through and place each rep by hand, copy and paste and move for each frame. and then finally merge them together.
what i want to do is pretty much knock out having to move it into place everytime rather just click and have it pasted right where i want it without have to move it around.
it sounds simple and like it wouldnt help much but when you have to do the same thing 10x on 10 frames it adds up.
when you define it as a brush tip, it obviously doesnt carry the actual image, so while it can work for placing little green boxes that look like reps they dont actually look all the much like reps, just lil green blobs.
when you define it as a pattern it carries the image great except it repeats it so the while it would be good for a large area for a small area your left with lots of half reps and reps that arent defined very well.
once it's in your clipboard, use the lasso to quickly select the area you want it placed. paste. keep repeating as necessary.
you can define the area you want it placed using the lasso.
hope that makes sense...it was clearer in my head it's very simple..just hard to word.
Seems like an animation software would do the trick or maybe I didn't understand what you're trying to do. What you are doing now is working on each frame of the animation manually, which kind of sucks.
Use Macromedia Flash for example, so you could specify the starting position and the ending position of the image (movie clip) you want to animate and it will be done automatically. You can then export your animation to .gif format.

thats what i ended up doing except i used the rectangle selection tool, but still a hassle working with lots of layers and constantly hitting ctrl v.

im just learning flash now, i think it would be a bit easier as i could simply convert the .gif into a graphic in the libary and drag it into place.
do you know what flashpaper 2 is? i cant find a serial for the copy ive got so ive got it installed but havent activated it yet, i think ive got all of the macromedia software and im dl visual studio aswell, i just have to teach myself all of it.
