Exclamation "could not parse the image" WTH????

ok, i downloaded some renders from a well known renders site, and ive had this problem before but not with all of the DL's, i have PSE 6.0 and have use 5.0 alot, but for some reason it wont parse any of the recent images, is this a setting i need to adjust? i can not find any good info on how to make pse parse a file. any and all help is very much welcome, thankyou for your time?!?!?!

I've encountered that message myself. What the heck does it even mean?

It often means the file extension is incorrect (ie: the file is in a format different than the extension), the file contains unsupprted formatting/information or the file is corrupt.

Renaming the file should sort it out, Try the common extentions like .jpg .jpeg, although if its a decent render chances are the extention will be .png .

This has sorted out the problem for me almost every time I get it.

what if the render is already a png and it still wont parse it?

try renaming it away from png, so name it a jpeg or something, and then re-name it back to png. Otherwise open it in another program, and resave it.
