Laser effect, filter?

If you had a picture say of people, and you wanted laser in bacground, but the beam of laser comin past or layerd over the people.

How could you achieve this?

Is there some sort of filter, brush that would look like a laser?

I was messin on filters> lens flare but how do i chnage it to green and red etc?

CTRL+B to bring of the colors pallete. The way I would prolly do it is use the line tool, erase some to give it a laser look, add a glow, and change the opacity to like 75.

Create a line, give it an outer glow, and erase the end to make it fade.
