Drop shadow in layers

I have an image with 5 layers. Each layer has a drop shadow. But if I give an angle of say 90, all other layers take this angle, which I do not want. I do not have the layers linked. Any ideas how I can get around this?

Sounds like you are using layer styles to create the drop shadow. On layers that you do not want to match, de-select the use global light checkbox on the drop shadow menu. Layers with this option turned off will not follow the shared lighting direction and attributes.

another way you might want to try is select the layer with drop shadow then in layers menu under layer styles select create layers and the drop shadow becomes a seperate layer

Nice tip.
Only down side would be the loss of edit ability of the shadow thru the layer style menu and edits would be done manually. Would be a fast way to convert drop shadows to perspective shadows.
