Image size?

Hey everyone,

I've got a technical problem over here. I'm working with cs3 and I've got jpeg i made in carrara that's at 1600 ppi. Usually I take it in to photoshop and reduce the ppi to 300 and again to 96. However I've got to make a 590x60 web banner that I've got to stick this image on. Here's my problem...the image is vertical, I need to conserve transparency, and no matter what size I make it (I've tried a lot), when I make the physical size of the image in the flash document smaller, it becomes "overflowing" with pixels and is extremely sharp and unclear. Can someone offer a suggestion? Anything is appreciated.

Did you successfull downsize the image in photoshop first and what file format did you save the image? Can you post the downsized image you are trying to use in flash?

Did you have extra channels in your photoshop file before you saved the reduced file? Seen channels jack with some image formats.

Yes, I've downsized it to 300 ppi, 96 ppi, 800 ppi, etc...

Basically I've just been converting the layer to a smart object and then exporting it to conserve the transparency in flash.

No extra channels...the file is opened in photoshop as an RGB psd.

I would suggest using the save for web & devices to save the file as a PNG instead of using the native PS import to flash. Sounds like you are having a translation problem with flash correctly importing the ps image.
