How do I create a depression?

Hey, so Im doing a logo for my dad and I've basically completed it, he wants his company logo on the earth. Like some one dropped it and it's IN the planet. I did the planet from scratch and i've designed the logo. But I can't seem to merge the two in a realistic way (the planet is photo realistic). I just want to have it seem impressed into the earth. I've tried outer shadow but it doesnt work. Any suggestions?

How to create a depression:
First you let your stupidly large company extend way too much credit to people that have little to no collateral and then you make questionable investments and overreport income to inflate your stocks. Then you pay your top executives ridiculous amounts of money and benefits and sponsor all kinds of events and spread money around like it is water. Then you look up one day and ask the governement to bail you out cause you did not plan for the economic turn down that happens every 5 to 7 years............oh, wait you did not mean that kind of drepression. LOL


Try inner shadow or bevel and emboss and make the direction down. You can also play with the layer blend modes to change how the logo works on the image below. Often times a combination of effects will yeild the desired results. Post pics of both if you need help.
