Image inside a Bubble

Hello everyone

I am going out of my mind. I've been searching for a tutorial on how to put a picture inside a bubble to make it look realistic. I have for example my daughter and I want to put her inside a bubble without distorting her or making her nearly impossible to see. I've tried many ways to do this but I'm now in need of a good tutorial to assist as this is proving more difficult than I first thought.

I'm using photoshop cs3

Thanks and I look forward to receiving some tutorials

Here are some tutorials on how to make bubbles in Photoshop.
Bubbles
More bubbles
Even more bubbles
Try one of them then put the picture of your daughter on a layer below the finished bubble.

Hey there,

Thanks for your quick reply, I've tried that method of putting her on a layer below a bubble and I must be doing it so badly because it doesn't have the effect of realism I'm after.

I was hoping for a detailed tutorial on how to achieve this. I know how to make bubbles via photoshop and have also brought and got free bubble brushes so the bubble part is not the issue.

But thanks again for your suggestions.

Still requiring a tutorial :o)

Have you tried changing the Blending Mode of the bubble layer over your picture?

Try Overlay/Multiply/Screen/Lighten, and then maybe tinker with the Opacity a bit.

Hey

Thanks again for your quick reply

Here is a link to a picture that I found to which I wish to achieve with my own daughters image and my own background. This link is just to give an example of what it is that I'm wanting to do and why it is that a simple bubble and layers and fiddling around with everything so far isn't working

http://natyismyhero.deviantart.com/a...sweet-96373416

Oh and I have visited the link under that picture but there is no tutorial to be found

the bubble in that pic looks like it was made using a sphere plug-in and was set to overlay....i don't think it was made using any of the tutorials you have tried.
Try using this sphere and play around with the blend like overlay/screen/lighten

That is the right track but you need to add a color tint to the bubble and then more oval accents warped on a layer above the bubble. Notice the highlights on the sample provided above. Just paint them on and then blur them to taste and reduce layer opacity.

Hi to you guys thanks for the help and suggestions

Now above I left some of what was said because I'm unfamiliar with the tinting methods and oval accents warped on a layer above the bubble could you give me an example of what you mean in either typed form or utube perhaps?

Thanks for all the help so far

Thanks heaps for that link however can you assist me just a little bit more in the first posting of that tutorial the guy doesn't explain himself very clearly at all and I'm stuck. After making the square selection he says this: I centered the square on Chickie and took in some of the surrounding stuff as well.

My question: How did he make the square turn to a circle he doesn't describe this very clearly and not only that but the bird in the middle is some what distorted.

I tried using the elliptical tool and got the circle part however I didn't get the bird in the middle being all distorted he doesn't explain how he did that it's like he's missing a few important parts to his tutorial.

Next he jumps to erase but again is not clear on what parts to erase? Because he's doing this with Photoshop elements 3.0 and I'm doing it with photoshop cs3 there is a lot of confusion.

Or I'm just having the worlds biggest blonde day. Either way it is a super fantastic tutorial no doubt about it, it just needs refining so us blondes can better understand. If you or anyone else has the time to do this for me I'd be very grateful, pretty please

There is also another tutorial that I found, again it has some points in it which confuse me. Here is the link for this one that I found.

http://www.photoshopessentials.com/p...ts/wine-glass/

They say that this tutorial can also be used with a bubble but my question of course is **How** lol

Thanks

For TypeO the bubble girl, I selected the portion of the image with a rectangular selection and created a new layer with that portion of the image (ctrl-j).

I then ran filter/polar coordinates/rectangular to polar.

Reduce the layer opacity and mask the center of the image with a soft brush.

Applied layer styles of inner glow and a gradient overlay (radial).

Duplicated layer and changed layer blend mode to lighten.

Added a layer set to lighter color and used the orange shirt color and white to add some more tint to the bubble and made the layer a clipping mask.

Added some drop shadow and inner shadow above to enhance the 3d effect.

I will try to create a tutorial later if I get some time.

Used two of the bubble pictures in overlay mode. Also removed 1 pixel from outside of bubble becuase it was a black outline.
