im doing this for a customer but i havent perfected the coloring and it has to be good thats why im going to you guys


ok heres what i need

i need this picture restored
take out all of the scratches and imperfections


then i need it colored
for the woman
her hair golden red (like ann margarets used to be)
brown eyes
light skined with slight tan
her dress is royal blue so is the hat
umbrella is the same
the flowers are blue and white
the ruffles are white
and the buttons are silver.


the man
light skin
brown eyes
white undershirt
grey uniform (civil war general)
buttons are silver
the hat is grey as well with silver or gold emblem with ever looks best
silver and black sword
black tie


make the background whatever you feel looks best
same with curtain

actually, you aren't gonna get a very good picture out of it. The scan has too much contrast to colorize.

I am gonna give it a try but it will never look natural.

Do you have a larger scan?

The file is only 200dpi with a print size of 4x5. It will be difficult

no this was already 8x10 scaned

it is an 8x10 how can i make it bigger when scanning it.

Did you do any reduction to upload it? Photobucket may have reduced the size abit, but PS says its print size is 4x5 when I open it.

Make sure your scanner is setup the actual size and 300 dpi.

and clean. A lot of that dust is from a dirty scanner.

Wow! resetting it to 400 dpi and a doc size 8x10 worked better that I thought it would! That usually a no-no.

Damn! Theres a lot of crap to clean out of this....

Hey, it is. The washed out areas are going to be difficult to color. I'm gonna mess with it as is for a while.
