Anyone know how to make "shapes" or Vectors in photoshop so P-Cat can finally be scalable?

ok, I'm trying to make a vector shape of this that can be used in illustrator.

So far I made a psd file with p-cat and it has a path that is in the right shape.

The graphic design lady at the shirt shop is trying to tell me she needs a higher resolution of this that she can open in illustrator. I dont know how to use illustrator yet so I'm having a hard time.

Anyone that knows about illustrator, could you please give me a hand here?
I'm lost.
