Simple questions,

When using the brush tool, is it possible to use like a blend of colours, instead of one solid colour? Like a skin tone colour, instead of one solid pink?

Also, is it possible to use the gradient too to make it appear as though sunlight is coming from a different direction?

Yes.

In the brushes pallet you can change colour dynamics.

Im not sure what you mean about the sunlight thing.
