I want to get more ram for my computer.

right now I have 2 x 512 of PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM.

I was searching on the internets and found some good deals at newegg

I just dont know what I should get. All the rams they have are 5200. Should I get that? would it work?

The 3200 and 5200 are speeds. As long as you get the 240 pin DDR2 it should work.

I ordered a 4gb package but it hasn't arrived yet.

I got 4 gigs of kingston right now to balance out my processor (3 ghz intel dual core)

How do I know how many pins mine has, I see some with 200 and some with 240.

also, why is newegg so cheap?
they want $20 or $40 for the same thing that bestbuy wants $200 for.

anything DDR2 with 240 pins will work. the RAM will automatically step down to the correct speed.

that said, get the lowest possible speed (close to the 3200, or 400MHz), to save on the dollahz. You can get good prices on the 4200 or 5300. Anything faster and you're wasting money, 'cause it only runs so fast in your system.

check http://www.crucial.com for your ram as well. sometimes they beat newegg.
