Angry How do I....

Ever since I redid my computer when I'm on any forum, mail or anything I am typing on, every 30 seconds or so it will stop typing and I have to click back where I was and start typing again. Like it's saving a document or something. Kind of like when you are emailing someone and it saves a draft. I can't get it to stop and it's driving me nuts because every couple of seconds it does this.

Anyone know how to get it to stop? I've trying searching online and came up with nothiing. I'm using firefox/mozilla.

Any help would be appreciated.

This might help you fimd what is going on
When things go wrong, Windows often makes a note of the problem in the Windows Event Log. Go to Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer.
There will be 4 logs on the left panel you can click on to look for errors. Click on the errors in the right panel and a description of the error will display.
It's a lot of technical jargon but might lrt you know if the cpu is overloaded for some reason or if some application is causing the errors.

Or you might also try a can of canned air and clean the inside of the pc out with it. Usually dirty insides will lock it up though due to overheating.

Thanks for your advice, but I don't think it's any of that.

I don't think it's anything that's going "wrong". It's like some type of draft saver, you will be typing and it will stop and you'll see the cursor go to like the hourglass like if it's saving something and then you have to start back where you were at typing again.

The event viewer...I wouldn't know what I was looking for to begin with.

It's not any keys sticking or dirt in the keyboard.

This is a problem that I believe is coming from mozilla. I tried once on ie and I didn't have a problem during the time that I was on it typing.

I'm calling it an autodraft because when I'm on my myspace page typing an email, when it does it, above it will say "saving draft"

One thing to check in firefox is under the Tools-Add ons-Plugins. There is an auto save add on for firefox. Check if you have it and if so disable it.

No I haven't for the simple fact that I'm not the greatest with computers and such. I mean I know how to download the programs and set them up, but I don't want to loose any of my bookmarks saved (b/c there are a lot) and I remember I had to get my brother in law to take all the book marks off my other harddrive, save it and find them all on here to install them and it was a real pain.

Click on Bookmarks-organize bookmarks-import/backup, abd then save it to your desktop or somewhere you can then later find. Then do the same to restore (import) them.

I really don't think it's that because this only happened after we installed my new hard drive on the computer and it's been acting like this since then.
I just think it has something to do with the settings...I just can't figure out where and which.

step 1). turn off computer
Step 2). Unplug computer
Step 3). pack computer in box
Step 4). Place computer in car
Step 5). Drive it to repair shop of your choice

that should fix the problem....but you have to do them in EXACTLY that order

When I did this and saved it on my desktop, it comes up as one of those "windows can not open this file and needs to know what program created it then ask if you want the web to find a program or select a program from the list"

it should be an htm or html file. you dont need to be able to open it, you will just need to import it into the new firefox installation if you're reinstalling
