I had a computer that the HD failed in. I replaced it and all went well with that but when the thing booted the first time it said the HD was drive 'I'.

It all works fine that way excpt you can't install addons cuz the first place they look by default is C. C is now in the card bay.

What if I just unplug the card bay for now. I'm not using it. Maybe those drives will go back where they belong when I plug them back in?

Have you gone into the bios and adjusted the settings to assign this drive as primary??

Did you remember to make sure the jumpers were set to match the old HD and that it is master and not slave. Is it a SATA or EIDE?

It is the primary drive, its sata and like the HD before it, there are no jumpers.

Problem sorted out. Grrrrrrrrr

Will be reformatting and reloading as soon as the other computer gets back from the shop. This time, without the card bay plugged in.
