When I read a chopping thread, I look at the pictures and can automatically tell whos made it. I think everyone's chopping technique is a little different.
I thought I'd make a quick and simple tutorial to show how I do mine.
1. First of all, I find the photo I'm going to chop. I found this one in another thread and I thought it had potential.
2. I then take a picture of Chuck Norris, Bpep, Silverback Gorillas etc etc and I copy the face or item I want to use. I then paste it directly on top of the area I'm working on. I like to use faces that seem similiar to the area Im working on. (example, smiling Chuck face on a guy dancing. It just looks funny)
3. This is where I use my wacom tablet. It is like working with a pencil. I can apply different levels of pressure and it will erase more or less when I apply pressure to it. I zoom in 3 or 4 times. I carefully erase (with pressure) around the outline of his head. Using less pressure makes him blend in more with the background.
4. Zooming in closer. Still erasing around his head. Again, the wacom tablet allows me to blend the skin better than what a regular mouse would. I lightened/darkened the skin to make it appear more one color.
5. Starting a new head. In this picture you can see the different pressures I used to erase around his head.
6. Finished picture. Time to get down with Norris...
